Although I would not say I'm a letterpress printing artist, I have been doing a lot of it this semester in Inge's class. This article lists a couple of presses that use alternative printing materials for their prints. The Lego prints are actually pretty cool. They really, made an impression.

What?! So great! I really like those dice, and I'm totally into things like modularity and the grid. Is this article giving you any big ideas? What about perler beads? There could be some interesting potential there…
ReplyDeleteThe dice piece was featured in CNTRL + P exhibition at SGCI 2015! I saw it in Knoxville and thought it was either relief or polymer plate! Such a surprise! It made me feel quite happy that my new work is using something neither polymer nor traditional printing material as a matrix. Sometimes regular materials can give you really cool imagery to take advantage of.
